March Ice Break

I drove by the Southampton Harbour one day during early march and saw all this ice breaking up in the water. I was facinated by the shapes and sense of power these huge ice sheets had. I painted some of it on the spot with my gloves full of paint and then took it back to the studio to finish. Ive painted and sketched those boats a 100 times.
